A Text For Life

Who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of the Lord?He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground; had no beauty nor comeliness and when we see it, it did not look good, that we should desire. He was despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised and we esteemed him not.Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows upon himself, and we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, each one turned to his own way: but the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep is silent before its shearers, so he opened not his mouth.By oppression and doom was taken, and who shall declare his generation? He was cut off from the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. However, it pleased the Lord to bruise him, causing him to suffer, when your soul is put for sin, will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.He shall see of the travail of his soul and be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my servant, the righteous shall justify many, for their iniquities shall take upon himself. So I will give him the part of many, and the powerful, he shall divide the spoil, because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors and he bare the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.
